I'm an award-winning creative director with 13+ years of marketing, branding, UX/UI and design experience.
I'm a jack of all trades with expertise in digital, print, event, experiential, photo, video, and branding. I specialize in creating video content for advertising partners, resulting in repeat business and significant increases in revenue. I love leading a team and mentoring young designers.
After graduating from School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, I began my career at J.Crew by working my way from the stores to the corporate offices. I wore many hats as the creative assistant for the Store Communications and Internal Marketing department -- anything from contest poster designs, liaising with vendors for seasonal gifts, creating product knowledge books for the Factory and Crewcuts divisions, to teaching myself to code, and managing the Intranet.
After J.Crew, I took my ability to code and became an advertising production assistant at the fashion, food, & fun e-mail and website, DailyCandy. Within 6 months, I was promoted three times and was running the Ad Operations department. Utilizing my training as a designer, I stepped in whenever needed for both editorial and custom advertising design. Seeing the need for a full-time designer, I transitioned and established an art department playing a leading role in the rebranding and redesign of the company in 2009.
I became an art director for Condé Nast Media Group, where I worked on numerous luxury, beauty, fashion, and financial brands, receiving widespread industry recognition, including top awards from min's Best of the Web, min's Integrated Marketing, and the Internet Advertising Competition. I was named the 2011 Condé Nast Marketer of the Year, and was part of the team that received an AdAge Media Vanguard Award for Best iPad Production Studio. I oversaw a group of designers who created advertising campaigns from concept to execution.
After being in publishing for 7 years, I wanted to learn more about eCommerce so I became Senior Art Director at Quidsi, Inc., an Amazon subsidiary. I oversaw the creative direction of Casa.com, Look.com, BeautyBar.com, YoYo.com, AfterSchool.com, and Bookworm.com, as well as major cross-site marketing and merchandising initiatives. I worked with the merchants to redefine the branding of Casa.com as a leader in housewares and home décor, and developed a photography style for children’s clothing for Look.com. I updated the branding of BeautyBar.com to evoke the excitement and beauty of trying on makeup but in a virtual way. I helped develop standardized email marketing templates, style guides for all 6 brands, and new content initiatives and campaign templates.
A new position was created at the Hearst Men's Group, unifying four brand's marketing art departments. I became Executive Creative Director for Group Marketing for Esquire, Popular Mechanics, Car and Driver, and Road & Track. There, I instituted new workflows and procedures and defined a new standard for custom executions. My team designed and produced all marketing materials (sell-sheets, presentations, collateral, premiums), custom print and digital advertising, photo and video shoots, and events for all four titles. We specialized in a 360 approach to all programs. I specialized in creating branded content, producing over 40 long-form videos within a year. Revenue from custom programs tripled during my tenure.
I resigned from Hearst last year to take a year to travel, freelance, and rediscover my passions. I started an etsy shop specializing in custom pet portraits, traveled to South America on a yoga retreat, and became an assistant chef at Sur La Table Cooking Schools.
During this time, I also designed the professionals site for Keratin Complex: a robust content and ecommerce experience for their stylists to discover everything Keratin Complex has to offer. Additional clients include iCrossing, Savoteur, Restaurant Appliance Depot, Yoga Trailguide, 12Twenty, ServiceTitan, and Terroir Wine Seminars.
